9S: SPEED

HOW DO YOU MAKE AN ATHLETE FASTER IN A WAY THAT MAKES HIM/HER BETTER?

9S: Speed begins with a simple question, “How do you make an athlete faster in a way that makes him/her better?” This question begins our exploration of the fundamental neurology of the Z-Health approach to speed in the overall context of athletic development.

What creates a fast athlete in the CONTEXT of their sport? Is it simply fast reaction times to a stimulus and the ability to move quickly, without regard to direction, technique, or intent?  Or is it the ability to see, understand, decide and act faster than their opponent? We’ll teach you how and why both research and real world experience point to the latter.

THE GAME-CHANGING CONCEPTS AND PRINCIPLES OF 9S: SPEED ARE:

Fundamental speed training neurology – why it matters in both rehabilitation and sport.

Why visual speed may be the most important determinant of movement speed.

Cognitive processing and speed development – the critical missing piece in most training programs.

Position-specific visual and vestibular assessment and training for maximal skill & speed transfer.

Developing high-level sprint and transitional movement skills.

The connection between visual fatigue and peripheral fatigue.

Assisted and resisted speed training through a neural lens.

Based on this, 9S:Speed is the most extensive vision and cognitive training course in the Z-Health curriculum. Using a combination of both low-tech and high-tech assessments and drills, the vision training information in this course is vital for improving everyone you work with in both rehabilitative and training environments.

Combining the advanced vision work of this course into specific, decision-making training progressions allows you to build optimal drills for your athletes of all ages and skill levels.

Additionally, 9S:Speed focuses on analysis and precise training modules for sprinting, athletic transitional movement, rotational speed and power generation, and speed endurance movement principles.

Finally, this course provides a clear view of and rationale for advanced training methodologies for maximal speed development based on current research.

OVER THE 4 DAYS OF 9S: SPEED, YOU WILL:

Understand the OODA loop and its application in both rehabilitation and sporting environments.

Learn over 50 advanced visual assessments and drills.

Design targeted visual and vestibular drills for specific rehabilitative and sports situations.

Practice the most useful sprint mechanics drills necessary for all athletes.

Explore and refine elite transitional movement skills.

Learn critical rotational and limb speed assessments and drills.

Develop a roadmap for applying speed training concepts to any sport or athlete.
