Today, just a quick blog on one of my new favorite apps.
Today I want to talk to your very quickly about a new app that’s just come out. It was developed by a Z-Health trainer who spends all of his professional life working with professional athletes around the world, and it is fantastic.
This is the app. It is called #BeFirst. I know that sounds weird. I’m not a Twitter guy, but #BeFirst as in B-E-F-I-R-S-T, and I’m going to recommend that you not only check this app out, but you go ahead and get it.
We spend a ton of time in Z-Health working on all the different systems of the body, and when it comes to improving performance, whether it’s on the field, in a work environment, a lot of what we need to do is we need to see information, we need to process it correctly, we need to make good decisions about it, and all of that relates to how well we run our brain.
This new app is designed to work on multiple systems. It works on your eyes, it works on your ears, it works on your cognitive decision making, and it is fantastic.
Grant sent it to me about three weeks ago, and I’ve been testing it ever since, using it every day, and I absolutely love it. I’m going to recommend that you pick it up, and I want to be clear on a couple things.
Number one, it is not a vision training app. I’ve recommended those in the past, and this is not designed to make you necessarily see better or be able to read text better. It is designed to improve your visual reaction time, your auditory reaction time, your hand eye coordination, as well as like I said, some brain processing things that go into making good decisions.
It fits into a different category than other things I’ve recommended in the past.
Second thing, it is a little bit expensive. It’s more expensive than a lot of other apps that you’re going to run into, but there has been a huge amount of development that’s gone into it, and it is absolutely worth the price.
Third thing, it is not magical. What I mean by that is you still have to do the work. When it comes to improving anything with the brain, we know that we need to test where we’re at, we need to train, and then we need to track our results so that we can see improvement over the top over time.
When you register for this app, it allows you to do all of those things.
Generally what you’re going to find when you use this kind of work is that you can get benefit for just a couple minutes at a time, but really the training programs, they take work. They take effort. In general, we’re seeing with current research is if I want to work on my visual system, my auditory system, I need to accumulate somewhere between fifteen and twenty minutes of work at least four times a week.
That reminds my brain that these changes are really important, and we can start to drive what we call that plastic change occurring in the brain. This app will allow you to do all those things and a lot more.
The other cool part about it is if you like to compete with your friends, there’s a leaderboard, and you can connect with them, and there’s all that other cool techno stuff that people know how to do that I don’t, but I do love how this app works and what it can do for you, for your clients, and for your brains.
Please check it out. Again, it’s #BeFirst. I think if you get a chance to play with it, use it, I would love to get your feedback. I know Grant would love to get your feedback as well.
That’s it for this week. Take care.
